I'm a pretty lazy person, and it seems like Skeletonwitch are also lazy people. I've heard nice things about how tight they are live, and how heavy their stage show is, etc. It took me much more than a pint of cheap whiskey, and a month to finally find the motivation to write this pathetic review. Their mix of "classic" thrash metal and "old school" black-metal anthems drops like wet turds. I am sure they're tight live, but being tight and writing good songs can be on opposite sides of the room. These songs run together horribly. Claims that this band are resurrecting black-thrash-whatever are false. Break out a Sodom album, tear open a twelve-pack, and listen to the real thing. If you're looking for classic shit, listen to classic shit. Skeletonwitch is watered-down boring. Their merch/art seems cooler than their music, and that's not metal!
